Charles Gilliam is a licensed massage therapist, diplomate in CranioSacral Therapy, certified Zero Balancer and Gene Keys Ambassador. He taught CranioSacral Therapy for the Upledger Institute from 1986 to 2009. He taught Zero Balancing through the Zero Balancing Health Association from 1989 to 2009. He has a third degree black belt in the martial art, Aikido. Charles has been teaching Aikido to children and adults for the past 30 years. He earned a masters degree in Biomechanics from the University of Maryland in 1984.

Charles has a private practice in Shutesbury, Massachusetts. He works with children and adults. He utilizes a blend of CranioSacral Therapy (Upledger and Biodynamic), SomatoEmotional Release, Zero Balancing, and Visceral Manipulation in his practice. He has also studied with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, developer of Body-Mind Centering, and uses much of her work on the developmental processes in children. Out of these studies comes Quantum Dance.  In 2019 he completed an ambassador training with the Gene Keys Society and Richard Rudd. One of his goals in teaching and in practice is to hold a sacred space for individuals to learn and grow in their awareness of themselves and others. Read more about Charles’ Journey.

He lives in Shutesbury, MA with his wife, Rebecca (chiropractor, CranioSacral Therapist, artist, visionary). Their two boys, Gabriel and Raphael, live in Vermont and NYC and are pursing their individual passions.

He likes to bike, walk, cross country ski and snow shoe through the woods in his hill town environment. He swims in the lakes in the summer and in his Endless Pool in the winter.  He downhill skis in Vermont in the winter.  He loves his gardens and creates sculptures out of glass globes, copper and mountain laurel.  See more sculptures here.
